Like all other developing countries Bangladesh is striving hard to attract foreign investments to bolster its economic development. Sound infrastructure is prerequisite for attracting global investment. The Government has allocated a sizeable portion of the yearly budget for infrastructure development and yet the demand for infrastructure projects keeps increasing. To accelerate infrastructure development the Government has encouraged private sector participation in infrastructure projects. The first such project is the Jatrabari-Gulistan Flyover project in Dhaka which is to be implemented on a Build, Operate, Own and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

With the vision to be among the leaders in infrastructure development, Orion Group incorporated Belhasa Accom & Associate Ltd, a concession company to bid for the Jatrabari-Gulistan Flyover Project. After a highly competitive bidding, Belhasa Accom & Associates Ltd was awarded the concession to design, construct, maintain and operate the Flyover.. The Concession Agreement, the first of its kind in Bangladesh, was sealed on June 21, 2005.

The ground breaking ceremony was inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister on June 04, 2006.
