Construction Work of Jatrabari-Gulistan Flyover is in Progress
The construction works of Jatrabari-Gulistan Flyover is progressing in full swing after it was inaugurated by Honourable Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia on June 04, 2006.

Belhasa Accom and Associates Ltd., a concern of Orion Group was awarded the Jatrabari-Gulistan Flyover Project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. In this regard, Honourable Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia inaugurated the construction works on June 04, 2006.
Keeping in mind the country’s increasing demand for infrastructure and to meet the increasing traffic needs, the Government has encouraged private sector participation in infrastructure projects. The first of such projects is the Jatrabari-Gulistan Flyover project in Dhaka which is to be implemented on BOOT basis. The flyover is expected to be completed within the stipulated time of 36 months with an estimated investment of BDT 670 crore.
It shall run through one of the most congested areas of Dhaka City. The construction of the flyover will not only ease congestion but also allow the government to derive economical benefit by way of reduction of national wastage and pollution.
Air East Asia signs agreement to start budget airline
An agreement was signed recently between Air Asia Berhad and East West Airlines Ltd., a concern of Orion Group with a view to introduce low cost Airline for the first time ever in Bangladesh. In this regard, Mr. Kamarudin Meranun, Group Deputy CEO of Air Asia Berhad also visited Bangladesh and attended a press conference along with other meetings. Operations of Air East Asia is expected to start shortly. |
