ORION Opens LPG Plant in Mongla

ORION introduced it’s new Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Bottling Plant in Mongla, Bagerhat on Saturday, 17th February 2018 in Mongla, Khulna. The Honorable Chairman of ORION, Mr. Mohammad Obaidul Karim, Managing Director Mr. Salman Obaidul Karim and the Honorable Director Mrs. Arzuda Karim were graciously present at the auspicious inauguration. The new venture has made a remarkable step to plug the gap of fuel supply to countrywide households. This venture has further been made with a commitment to make a role-play with a single focus on delivering reliable and affordable LPG, as alternative of natural gas, to the households and industries across the country and also in line with the footstep of Vision-2021 of the government.

With a project cost of BDT 200 crore, the plant has been established with state-of-the-art European technology. The plant will supply 80,000 MT of LPG per year, with the capacity to fill 1,500 cylinders per hour. The plant has also a capacity of two 1,500 MT spherical storage tanks which with a provision to increase to 5,000 MT. ORION is importing the gas from Middle East. Orion is committed in delivering gas in proper quantities and ensures gas cylinders' safety. The cylinders have zinc coating to resist rusting. The company further aims to build a 3,000 MT storage facility in Chittagong and satellite storage facilities of 500 MT each in six divisional cities. As part of commitment, ORION will add an LPG delivery system through tank lorries to ensure bulk LPG supplies to industrial units and high-rise buildings.
