Condolence

তিনবারের সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী, গণতন্ত্র পুনরুদ্ধারের আপোষহীন নেত্রী, বিএনপির চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার মৃত্যুতে ওরিয়ন গ্রুপ গভীরভাবে শোকাহত (ইন্না লিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন)। দেশের সংকটকালের দৃঢ়চেতা কাণ্ডারী - যিনি সাহস, আত্মমর্যাদা ও আপোষহীন নেতৃত্ব দিয়ে জাতিকে উন্নয়নের পথ দেখিয়েছেন। গণতন্ত্র পুনরুদ্ধার, দেশের উন্নয়ন এবং জাতীয় স্বার্থ রক্ষায় দেশপ্রেম, ত্যাগ ও সংগ্রামের যে দৃষ্টান্ত তিনি রেখে গেছেন, তা প্রজন্মের পর প্রজন্মকে অনুপ্রাণিত করবে। ওরিয়ন গ্রুপ গভীর শ্রদ্ধার সঙ্গে এই মহান নেত্রীর অবদান স্মরণ করছে এবং তাঁর বিদেহী আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করছে। আমরা তার শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবার- পরিজন, সহযোদ্ধা ও অসংখ্য শুভানুধ্যায়ীদের প্রতি আন্তরিক সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করছি। আল্লাহ তা'আলা তাঁকে জান্নাতুল ফেরদাউস নসিব করুন এবং দেশবাসীকে এই গভীর শোক সহ্য করার শক্তি দান করুন। আমিন।

Orion gets land for PPP Project by BTMC

Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation (BTMC) officially handed over the project site to Orion Quaderia Textiles Ltd., a sister concern of ORION, on December 1, 2019. The site comprises 21.5 acres of land in Tongi, Gazipur. Earlier, ORION signed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement with BTMC on July 21, 2019, with the objective of contributing to the advancement of Bangladesh’s Ready-Made Garments (RMG) industry. On this occasion, Brigadier General Muhammad Kamruzzaman, Chairman of BTMC, formally handed over the land to Orion Quaderia Textiles Ltd. ORION plans to establish a state-of-the-art denim complex, along with washing facilities and extended RMG units, on the project site in Gazipur.

IDCOL to raise syndicated term loan facility for a 100 MW (AC) Solar Park of Energon Renewables (BD) Limited

Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), a government-owned development financial institution involved in private sector energy and infrastructure financing in Bangladesh, has recently signed a mandate with Energon Renewables (BD) Limited, an emerging concern of ORION, to raise a syndicated term loan facility for the establishment of a 100 MW (AC) solar park at Bora Durgapur, Mongla, Bagerhat. The solar power plant will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB). The project is expected to achieve commercial operation by August 2020. IDCOL, the largest energy and infrastructure financier in the country, has already financed power projects supplying more than 2,000 MW to the national grid. The organization also plans to invest an additional USD 1 billion by 2021 to support the development of priority infrastructure projects in Bangladesh.

Representatives of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan along with PPP Officials Visits Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover

ORION is the proud concessionaire of the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover, the largest flyover in Bangladesh, with a total length of 11.80 kilometers. The flyover connects the capital with thirty (30) districts and operates 24 hours a day without interruption. This project stands as an excellent example of a successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative in Bangladesh. On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, representatives from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan, the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, the PPP Authority, and officials from Kajima Corporation, Japan, visited the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover Project. The delegation also attended a luncheon hosted by ORION. The guests were warmly welcomed by the Vice President (Corporate Affairs), Vice President (Project), and Assistant Vice President (Toll Operations) of ORION. During the visit, the Assistant Vice President (Toll Operations) delivered a presentation highlighting the construction methodology, challenges faced during the construction phase, and the current operation and maintenance activities of the project. Following the presentation, a productive discussion took place. The delegation later visited Plaza-3 (Kutubkhali) to gain practical insight into the operational procedures of the toll system. The guests expressed their admiration for the project’s construction process and appreciated the operational and maintenance practices in place. They also acknowledged the project as a role model of a successful PPP initiative in Bangladesh.
